NATURA 2000 NETWORK

The Natura 2000 Network is a network of important ecological sites across the European Union. It is comprised of areas known as Special Areas of Conservation (SACs) and also includes Special Protection Areas (SPAs) and Sites of Community Importance (SCI).

The designation of an area as a site in the Natura 2000 Network does not mean the limitation of activities within the site and surrounding area if these are environmentally sustainable and do not affect the integrity of the area or its habitats, or objectives of species conservation.

CAORLE - BIBIONE LAGOON

The European Union has designated the Caorle Lagoon, the valleys of Bibione and the mouth of the Tagliamento as Sites of Community Importance (SCI).

The lagoon of Caorle - Bibione is between Venice and Grado-Marano.

It is an important reservoir of plant and animal biodiversity. It 's an important site for wintering and nesting waterfowl, as well as being a haven for many rare plant species.

The lagoon of Caorle and Bibione is not just nature, it is also culture and tradition.

There are important archaeological finds: the old coastline bears the traces of the foundations of the city and numerous wrecks of Roman ships, the Roman seaside villa "Motteron dei Frari" in Bibione, the medieval customs point of the Serenissima Baseleghe, the dwelling settlements of St. Gaetano and many other examples.

SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The concept of sustainability is a close relationship between environmental and social development.

The sustainability is one of the most important principle of Canevarolo Farm philosophy, even if the relationship between sustainability and economic development is complex. The idea behind the concept of sustainability is that a company success could be measured also by its social and environmental performance, not just by the traditional financial bottom line.

It is this love of nature that we convey to our guests.

According to this position, Canevarolo Farm wants to implement an Integrated Management System for Quality and Environment required by UNI EN ISO 9001:2008, UNI EN ISO 14001:2004 and (EC) 761 / 2001 – EMAS certification.
