Portogruaro

Small town in eastern Veneto, located between Venice and Trieste, the border of region Friuli Venezia Giulia.

Portogruaro is born along the banks of Lemene, small river that thanks to its navigability has allowed the human settled.

Ancient commercial port, in the past totally bulwarks, has an historic medieval center.

The center consists of buildings in Italian and Venetian Gothic stile, it’s contains the cathedral of St Andrew, built just after 1000, the bell tower and the townhall.

We suggest to visit the molini in Lemene, built in XV century; the restructuring of 1993 saved the building from ruin and allowed to reopen the gallery of contemporary art.

Interesting are also the national museum of Concordia which has archeological find in Concordia Sagittaria and the museum of Paleontology Gortani located in the Renaissance House Marzotto owned by the municipality.
